Summer Reading Program Volunteers

Earn community service, build a college resume, and help promote literacy in our community by becoming a Summer Reading Teen Volunteer.

Summer Volunteers assist the Youth Services Department in registering families for Summer Reading Challenges, logging reading for patrons, running activities for children, handing out prizes, decorating the library, and helping with library events throughout the summer.

Summer schedules are flexible and based on volunteers’ availability.

All teens applying to volunteer for Summer Reading are required to submit their own application and attend one training session in June.  Applications are available online and at the library starting early May.

This volunteer program is open to teens entering Grades 8-12.  Just-graduated high school seniors are also eligible to apply!
