Kanopy
In addition to our collection of movies and television series on physical discs, Moffat Library provides video streaming on-demand with Kanopy. This service is funded exclusively by Moffat Library and is available only to our cardholders.
Kanopy is a video streaming service that specializes in independent films, documentaries, and foreign and classic cinema, but its selection includes popular blockbusters as well. It’s a great resource for those looking for quality, thoughtful entertainment – all for free with your library! Get started with Kanopy here. Once you validate your library card number and PIN, you will need to create an account with Kanopy using an email address and a chosen password.

Play Credits & Monthly Limits
Moffat Library patrons receive ten (10) play credits per month. Most videos – whether a film or a television episode – uses one play credit. Some videos – including all content in Kanopy Kids and the Great Courses educational series – do not take up a play credit and can be watched as much as you like.
Once you select a video and press the play button, you will have three (3) days to view it. During that three day period, you can watch the video as many times as you like without using another play credit. Kanopy will automatically keep track of your play credits. Your number of play credits will reset back to ten on the first day of each month.
What You Need To Stream Videos On Kanopy
To get started, you will need a valid Moffat Library card and your four-digit library PIN. Your PIN is the last four digits of your phone number.
Once you sign in to Kanopy for the first time with your library card, Kanopy will prompt you to create an account using an email address.
You can stream Kanopy’s videos through any supported device. Search for the Kanopy app to put on your compatible television, mobile phone, or tablet. Android devices can find the Kanopy app in the Google Play Store. Apple devices can find the Kanopy app in the App Store. You can also stream video at any time through a laptop or desktop computer.
Kanopy Kids
Kanopy Kids is a section of Kanopy specially curated with age-appropriate and kid-friendly films and television shows. It’s a great place to find animated storytimes, early educational videos, and classic children’s films. Best of all, videos in the Kanopy Kids section do not cost any play credits to watch. Stream to your heart’s content!
