Join the Friends of Moffat Library as they step back in time and explore the medieval collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art “The Cloisters” on October 12, 2023.

The Cloisters NYC, New York incorporates medieval Europe into a modern museum with architectural elements as well as works of art and gardens.  

A West Point Coach will depart from St Mary’s Church parking lot (42 Goshen Ave, Washingtonville, NY) at 9:30am.  Arrival at the Cloisters around 11:30am.  

Our adventure begins at 12pm with an hour-long staff guided tour of interior gothic structures and art works.  Use your remaining time for individual exploration of the cloistered gardens, exterior landscape with vistas of the Hudson River or revisit areas of interest including the special exhibit of over 50 art works that explore the role of class and medieval household objects.  

Lunch is not included but refreshments and light fare are available for purchase in the onsite themed King John Tavern.  Picnicking is not allowed on the Cloister property, but the adjacent Fort Tyron park is available.  

The bus will depart at 3pm for its return to Washingtonville.
