A MESSAGE FROM VILLAGE HALL
Mandatory Water Restrictions for the Village of Washingtonville

The Village of Washingtonville Water Department has advised that they are continuing to have difficulty maintaining normal water levels in the Village due to the recent lack of rainfall. Well levels are dangerously low; we ask the community to help each other during this drought season. Accordingly, mandatory water restrictions for customers in the Village of Washingtonville are hereby instituted, effective immediately. Outdoor water use is hereby prohibited until further notice. Residents should also conserve water use inside their homes. It is important to note that this is only a supply issue, and at no time has water quality been impacted or compromised. Residents shall limit their water usage as follows:

•?No vehicle washing, no driveway washing.

•?No water uses for irrigation, lawn watering, or other outdoor use unless via a handheld watering can.

•?No refilling of fountains or decorative ponds.

•?No filling or topping off of pools.

Please be assured that we will keep all residents informed as we move forward. We are in the process of testing a new well that we expect to allow water levels to stabilize. Residents with questions or concerns may call the Mayor’s Office at 845-496-3221. Updates with respect to the water situation will be posted to the Village website www.washingtonville-ny.gov

The Village recognizes this inconvenience and appreciates residents’ cooperation during this time. PLEASE NOTE THAT A WATER STATE OF EMERGENCY IS NOT BEING DECLARED AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER, IF THE MANDATORY RESTRICTIONS ESTABLISHED HEREIN ARE NOT OBSERVED, IT WILL BECOME NECESSARY TO DECLARE SUCH A STATE OF EMERGENCY.
