HISTORIC POSTCARD
JIGSAW PUZZLES

#ThrowbackThursday: This week's historical jigsaw puzzle is based on a 1915 postcard of the Brooks' Bridge in Washingtonville.

Constructed in 1840, the Brooks' Bridge, which spanned the Moodna Creek along the Blooming Grove Turnpike towards Chester was named after local farmer John Irving Brooks (1777-1852) who owned a farm valued at $40,000 in 1850, or $1,196766.86 in today's currency.

The bridge was eventually demolished in 1922 and replaced with the current roadway.
