Moffat Library Fundraiser for a 3D Printer

The Moffat Library of Washingtonville has just launched a generosity.com fundraiser to purchase a 3D Printer for the library.  Over 400 public libraries in the United States now own 3D printers for use by their patrons; and the Moffat Library is hoping to have one, as well.

3D printers are allowing creators and inventors to conceive, conceptualize, design and easily produce 3D objects.  Gone are the days of large capital outlays for the production of a factory prototype. Libraries are stepping up to the plate to make this worthy new technology accessible to all for free.

3D printers produce a myriad of objects, toys, jewelry, practical household items - even eye glass frames!  The software that creates these things is free and web-based.

If the Moffat Library owned a 3D printer, we imagine emerging artists, designers, engineers, inventors and computer scientists, as well as people like us, from the community will get good use from it.

Please visit our campaign and consider making a donation for this worthy public library initiative @ Moffat!
