Emily Kinney, Head of Youth & Teen Services

Emily has been with the library since 2016, and develops programming and library collections for children and teens.  She received her Library Sciences degree from the University at Albany.  Her favorite programs to run at Moffat are storytimes, Nerf Capture the Flag, and Battle of the Books.  Emily is passionate about young adult novels, especially in the fantasy and supernatural genres.  She also tends to add various indoor plants to the Children’s Room when given half a chance.

Luisa Sabin-Kildiss, PR & Web Services Librarian

Luisa has been with the library since 2015.  She is responsible for the library’s publicity, and with maintaining the library’s website.  She sends out email newsletters to let our patrons know what we are offering and coordinates the creation of Moffat’s print newsletter three times a year.  Luisa assists with cultivating the digital collections and is always on the lookout for great new authors, as well as books with contemporary themes.

Matthew Thorenz, Head of Reference & Adult Services, and Local History Librarian

Matthew has been with our library since 2013, and is responsible for our print and digital adult collections, programming, and Local History department. He is especially skilled at helping with research related to the history of local families and places in our community! Matt is also adept at using our reference databases and keeps our collection up-to-date so you can quickly find current and authoritative information! Matt is also happy to help if you’re looking for a good history book to read, horror movie to view or, punk or classical album to listen to!

Joann Martin, Part-time Children’s Librarian

Joann has been a resident of Washingtonville for over 20 years.  She became a certified teacher in 1992, then a librarian in 2006.  She is currently a full-time elementary school librarian in the New Paltz Central School District.  Working part-time at Moffat for the past 3 years has allowed her to remain connected to the community and provide its patrons with a wide range of knowledge regarding children’s literature.

Vivian Milczarski, Part-time Librarian

Vivian has been with our library since the summer of 2017. Viv regularly works on Sundays and on Monday evenings, providing reference services and assistance with technology. Viv has extensive experience in many different kinds of libraries including public, special, and academic libraries. Currently, she serves as the Director of Kaplan Family Library at Mount Saint Mary College, but she loves working at Moffat since it offers her the opportunity to remain involved with the public library world. She’s happy to help you find your next great read, especially if it involves a mystery (including true crime) or cats!

David Sadoff, Librarian

David has been with our library since 2019, working with all age groups – adults, teens, and children. He got his library science degree from Rutgers University, also in 2019. David helps develop our audiobook, film & television, and digital collections. He loves helping with unusual research questions and any other requests that lead to a deep dive into the library’s databases. David’s favorite genres are fantasy, science fiction, and the 500s and 600s (that’s math, science, and technology) in nonfiction – but he’s thrilled to explore any kind of book too!
