World War One Cemetery Walk
Saturday, October 21st from 6:30 – 8:00 PM, Join our Village Historian, and Local History Librarian as we walk the Washingtonville All Faith’s Cemetery and meet the soldiers, sailors, and nurses from Washingtonville who were swept up into the First World War (1917-1918). We will visit the graves of Chadwick Gerow, David Wright Hudson, William Mallon and Rozwell Greene, and Chauncey Lewis, as well as Clara Hudson, and Florence Owen. The tour is free; however a suggested donation of magazines, candy, and protein snacks for troops stationed overseas is suggested.
Participants should bring: a flashlight, warm clothes, and a donation to benefit the Blooming Grove American Veterans Post 2015 Troop Care Package Drive.
Parking will be available on cemetery grounds, located 500 feet north of the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home on North Street.
