Learn about how this iconic Hudson River steamboat stole the hearts of locals and tourists alike. In service from 1861 to the end of 1917, the Mary Powell straddled the decades between the American Civil War and the U.S. entrance into the First World War. In this illustrated lecture by Sarah Wassberg Johnson, Director of Exhibits & Outreach at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, you’ll learn about the Mary Powell‘s long career, including some of the people who crewed her, some of her famous passengers, and some of the famous events she was present for.
Attendees are encouraged to visit the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston, NY to view the new exhibit “Mary Powell: Queen of the Hudson,” on display now.
